Welcome to the Harold Patterson Community Association's Website! Our stated purpose is to obtain the best lease agreement possible for the homeowners in our area of Arlington, Texas.

Our Association's area is bounded by Bardin on the North, SW Green Oaks on the South, Cooper on the West and Matlock on the East. There are approximately 1200 homes within our boundaries!

Drilling in the Barnett Shale has exploded in the past couple of years, and our homes are sitting right over the top of a portion of this huge natural gas field. The gas is approximately 7000 feet deep and locked in shale rock. Drilling typically involves drilling down and then turning and drilling horizontal. Water is used to hydraulically fracture the rock and release the gas. The drilling companies do not want to drill in your back yard. They only want your permission to drill horizontally, far beneath your home and collect the gas into their pipelines.

Who are we? We are your neighbors, not professional landmen, leasing agents or others who have ties to the gas drilling companies. Our only concern is making the best possible deal for our fellow neighbor's mineral rights. Some of us were offered a lease agreement by Paloma Resources late last year. We felt that the money offered was below what was being offered in other areas. Many of our neighbors received no offer at all.
